GPO Golf League Fall 2022 Season begins Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 5pm, Scenic Hills Country Club. There is still room left for you to join this scramble league.
We had a great championship match between Duke Silver and Got a Better Hobby?. Got a Better Hobby? had a 2-hole lead with 2 to play, but Duke Silver would not go away. On 17, Bobby Pratt birdied to win the hole and on 18, needing to make a 10′ putt to tie the hole and win the match, Jeff Deren lipped out his putt and sent it to extra holes. On the first playoff hole, number 10, Jeff got another chance. After missing the green in 2, he chipped up to about 7′ for his par attempt. Bobby Pratt once again, put in a par putt to turn up the heat. Jeff, having the only stroke (dot) on the hole, had another chance to end the match and the season. With ice water flowing through his veins, he stepped up and drained the putt. Boom went the dynamite!
Final standings for the Summer League were:
1st Place – Got a Better Hobby? (Dwain Wuerfel and Jeff Deren): $300/each ($600)
2nd Place – Duke Silver (Bobby Pratt and Jeremy Riley): $200/each ($400)
